4QD TEC electronics site is in two parts: the public access information which, though quite substantial, is only the 'front porch' of 4QD-TEC - The Electronics Club. But in future only paid up club members will have access to any new pages and educational and constructional articles will be written in response to requests from members.
Membership of 4QD-TEC gives you full access to all of the additional circuits and data. Membership is by subscription.
If you join 4QD-TEC as a full, paid up member, then you may have additional circuits and articles that are available. These are not present on the public area of the electronics site. Instead, they are in a password protected area of this site.
The main index indicates which articles are public access and which are members only.
The membership fee is for single individuals. It does not cover companies, schools, colleges or other organisations. It is a 'flat' fee and you will not be sent any paperwork. If you wish for a proper receipt to be sent, you should use group/corporate membership.
To join, you must pay £12.50 (about $22.00),
This minimum subscription will buy you six months membership. Timing will start from the end of the month in which you join.
You have presumably already browsed the main site index so you will realise from this that £12.50 represents very good value. How fast it expands will, to some extent, be determined by how many members we get!
Once your application has been received with payment, you will be emailed back with confirmation of your User Name and Password. Sorry, but we do not send out pape receipts. It may take a few days for your membership to be processed.
If your payment fails, you will be informed and the transaction will be deleted so you will need to reapply in full.
This may only be done by credit card. Sorry, but because of the nominal amount involved, we are not prepared to accept other methods of payment nor are we prepared to spend time of attempting to process card numbers which are wrong or are not clear.
If you wish to join, there are several methods of paying:
Cost -six month membership costs £12.50
In the body of the email, we need the following information:
We cannot process TEC membership applications with sales: please join TEC in an email separate from any other transaction.
Please allow a few days for any response: when your payment has been processed you will be emailed back that your password is working.
The payment we ask is very small - a mere 12.50 UKP. This is in effect a token payment, so please do not ask for free access - the amount of money we are asking for really does not cover the running expenses and we're not prepared to give free access - unless, of course, you show us you are prepared to actively contribute to what we are doing!
Ultimately the way we go will be up to the members, but it's likely to be restricted (for reasons which should be obvious) to projects which I feel competent to write up, so will be mostly analogue electronics, and mostly using discrete transistors. There will be educational articles explaining electronics in simple terms and how transistors and other components work. I don't anticipate getting into very much maths: it's not much to my taste either, but some simple analysis of transistor circuits, active filters etc. can be interesting and rewarding. If put properly, the maths need not be scary!
There will be more constructional information on some of the circuits already on site. Maybe we will design and sell circuit boards, if there are requests.
The first major project is a fairly detailed course on motor controllers and I will be releasing constructional detail and full circuit information on several of 4QD's controllers as demand warrants, also we will be selling empty circuit boards and some other key components.
